Gordon N. Adams Sr.
Gordon Neal Adams Sr., 90, of New Kensington, died Thursday, Oct. 13, 2016, in his residence. He was born March 30, 1926, in New Kensington, a son of the late Forbes Blair and Jessie (Bedell) Adams. He retired from ALCOA Logans Ferry Powder Plant after 34 years as a boiler repairman. He also worked for the New Kensington Streets and Parks Department and also worked for Pfund's Superior Sales for several years. Mr. Adams also served in the Navy during World War II as a radarman 3rd class, and enjoyed officiating basketball for many area Catholic schools, and umpiring baseball throughout the local area. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Peggy (Zimmerman) Adams, of New Kensington; four sons, Gordon (Debbie) Adams, of Arnold, Richard (Paula) Adams, of Lower Burrell, Dennis (Cindy) Adams, of Verona, and David (Debra) Adams, of Vandergrift; three daughters, Denise (Gene) DiFranco, of Allegheny Township, Debbie (Jim) Rearick, of Markle, and Kelly (Tony) Moran, of Ohio, 19 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by two brothers and three sisters. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, 2016, in the GIUNTA-BERTUCCI FUNERAL HOME INC., 1509 Fifth Ave., Arnold, JohnPaul Bertucci, owner-supervisor.
