SLOAN, Ginette Pierre passed away in her sleep at home in Tucson on September 26, 2016. She was born in Boissy-Sans-Avoir, France, on May 28, 1926. As a teenage girl, along with her family, she suffered under the German occupation during WWII. During this time, she fell in love with an American Army officer, Harold "Bob" Sloan, who had been part of the Normandy Invasion. Their daughter, Annie, was born in Paris in 1945. In October of 1947, with her young daughter, she sailed to New York City where Harold was anxiously awaiting. They were married three days later in Manhattan, NY. Harold retired from the Army at Ft. Huachuca in 1964, they made their home in Tucson. She worked for Sears on Broadway for over 35 years. Mother had a passion for life. She was an elegant lady, and with her French accent and inviting personality, no one could resist her charm. Ginette is survived by her children, Annie, Charles and Kimberly; nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and nephews, Christophe and Jeremy Pierre. Preceding her in death was her husband, Harold; their son, Thierry Sloan; her parents, Charles and Lucienne Pierre and her brother, Rene Pierre. Services will be private.
