In memory of
Gertrude Luane McGrath
Gertrude Luane McGrath Affectionately known as "Aunt Trudy" by generations of adoring families, passed peacefully at her home the morning of October 5, 2016. Born in Oakland to Beatrice and Thomas McGrath, from the beginning Trudy was determined, honest and full of love. She graduated from St. Anselm Catholic School where she was elected student body President. She helped pave the way for many girls like only someone of her generation could. She worked for over 30 years in the insurance business and happily retired in 1989. She fostered relationships that lasted her whole life. She was a devoted friend and loved traveling all over the world with her crew, which included an overwhelming number of trips to Hawaii. She loved sports and was known to have multiple TV's going at once so she wouldn't miss a thing. That is until the arrival of her 75 inch flat screen! Every Sunday she enjoyed watching the game and playing poker with her brother Tom and her nephews. She elicited laughter, love and relentless devotion to all things she cared for whether it be; traveling, sports, gambling, her garden, animals, her family and of course Easter, which she held for 62 years. Her cantankerous wit and love lives on through her brother Tom, his wife Donna, her five nieces and nephews Tom (Debi), Kathy, Mike (Jeannie), Greg (Michele), and Maureen (Bret). And she parties on through her nine great-nieces (The Naughty Nine), their husbands and her seven great-great nieces and nephews. The next generations with names unknown will always hear the great tales and life of the most amazing lady we have ever known. A memorial service will be held at 12 noon on Thursday, October 20th at St. Anselm Church, 97 Shady Lane, Ross, CA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Anthony's. https://www. stanthonysf.org Assisted by Monte's Chapel of the Hills San Anselmo. (415) 453-8440
