In memory of
ALEXIS - Geraldine Richardson Smith, 77, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016. She was born on Aug. 31, 1939 in Stewart County, Tennessee daughter of the late Monroe and Jewell Welker Richardson. She was preceded in death by her husband Howard F. Smith, a son Ricky Smith, a brother Jim Richardson. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church where she served in many positions. She and her husband were youth leaders, an Acteens leader, community hostess committee, sang in associational choir, senior citizens leader, member of WMU for the past 57 years directed the youth or adult choirs. She is survived by her daughter Sherry Smith Martin and husband Steve of Alexis; three grandchildren, Jeff Martin and wife Ashley of Alexis, Kristen Jenkins and husband Charles of Alexis, Ricky Dean Martin and wife Becca of Dallas; six great-grandchildren Jayce, Ansley, and Alexa Martin of Alexis, Keaton and Kadence Jenkins of Alexis, Jaxon Martin of Dallas; two god children, Tonia Ballard of Forest City, and Shea Ballard of Iron Station; one brother. Thomas Richardson of Clarksville, Tennessee; two stepsisters, Faye Brown of Lexington, Kentucky and Mae Hunter of San Angelo, Texas; two sisters-in-law, Bobbie Richardson of Greenville, Kentucky and Betty Smith and husband John of Iron Station and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly and spent many hours with. She had and loved some special friends and sisters in Christ. She was dedicated to her Savior. She loved her family and her friends who became family. She adored watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren grow and enjoy life. Music was a passion of hers. A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Smith will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, 2016 at Faith Baptist Church, 5914 Old Plank Road, Iron Station. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
