BLUMENSCHEIN, Geraldine (Allen) Passed away on Friday morning, October 14, 2016 with grace and dignity. She was 81. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, October 18th at 11:00 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Endicott. Burial will follow at the Endicott Cemetery. Geraldine was born March 6, 1935 in Logan, Utah to Joseph Murphy and Gail Wilson. She later married Harvey Blumenschein on November 1, 1952. They made the Endicott area their home for most of their married lives. Geraldine spent her time as a homemaker but also owned and operated a preschool in Endicott. If there was a way to describe her best it would be how charitable and giving she was. She was a very active member in the Trinity Lutheran Church. Some of her favorite things to spend her time doing were sewing, quilting, reading and walking. She made it a point to walk at least three miles every day. Geraldine would spend time making hats for the pre-mature babies at Deaconess Hospital in Spokane and would often volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House too. After Harvey's passing she developed a passion for traveling. She traveled to Hawaii, Mexico and all over the United States. Most of all, she loved her grandchildren best. She is survived by her four daughters, Yvonne Yates, Barbara (Verne) Strader, Kathleen (William) Bergloff, and Jeanette Blumenschein; five grandchildren, Derek Blumenschein, Nicholas and Erica Strader, Todd and Heather Strader, Jaclyn and Walter Haugland, and Eric and Jo Stockton; her great-grandchildren, Grant and Ava Strader, and Henry Haugland. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Art, and her husband Harvey. The family suggests memorial gifts be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church in Endicott and the Shriners Hospital in Spokane.
