Gerald White WHITE ROCK - Gerald E. White, 93, of White Rock, died Wednesday, October 12, 2016, at his residence. Born September 1, 1923, in Mohnton, PA, he was the son of the late John LeRoy and Miriam Musser White. Mr. White graduated from Albright College and was a U.S. Army veteran of WW II. He was a tank commander during the war. He retired as a safety engineer for the Cabot Corp. He was a lifelong member of St. James UCC in Pennsylvania and belonged to American Legion Post 193 in Chapin. He also was a former member of the Boy Scout Board, the Hope Rescue Board, and the Jaycees. Mr. White is survived by his children, Nancy Graham (John) of Irmo, and Barry White (Kitty) of Inman; grandchildren, Nichole Lowder, Coty Campbell, Chris White and Lisa Baker; and seven great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife of 68 years, Betty Burkey White. Funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 17, 2016, in the chapel at the Heritage at Lowman in White Rock, SC, by the Rev. Dr. Derald Edwards. Interment will be Fort Jackson National Cemetery with military honors at 2:00 p.m. Monday.
