George Buck Rogers
Oct. 9, 1937 - Oct. 17, 2016 The legend, the myth, the man, "Lucky Bucky" has gone to sit and drink coffee on a new front porch. Buck overcame adversity at an early age to become the inspiration to his family, friends and all who came in contact with him. He leaves a legacy of hope, laughter and "Buckisms". Buck never met a day that was not filled with sunshine and love. He was a carpenter/painter for many years and was an avid bowler. "That'll work", "And then some". Buck was preceded to his new porch by his father H.B. Rogers, mother Mary Lucy Rogers Boler, the mother of his children Linda Faye Rogers, a brother and two sisters; Tom Jr. Rogers, Opal Laverne Rogers, Mary Dunagan and a son in law, Bill Young. Survivors are his wife, Josefa Rogers, daughters; Georgia (Mark) Delillo, Candy (Patrick) McVeay and Christy (Rich) Crager, grandchildren' Jermiah Justin Delillo, Brandon Cole Delillo, Daniel (Stephanie) Tynes, Christian Brant Tynes, Cody Allen Crager and Cameron David Crager, great grandchildren; Owen Tynes, Cooper Tynes, Michael Tynes, siblings; Jack W. Rogers, James Amos Rogers, Elizabeth Bosarge, Henry Clay Boler, numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation for Buck will be Friday Oct. 21, 2016 from 10:00AM to 12:00PM at Heritage Funeral Home; services will begin at 12:00PM in the chapel at Heritage Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Bradley officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be his grandsons. Interment will follow at Orange Grove Cemetery. Heritage Funeral Home, locally owned and operated, in Escatawpa/Moss Point, MS is in charge of the arrangements.
