George A. Papp, of Avon, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2016, at the age of 73. George was raised and educated in Randolph, graduating from Randolph High School, and was a resident of Avon for the past 40 years. A veteran, he proudly served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Shenandoah on the front line during the Cuban Missile Crisis. In his free time, he enjoyed spending time with his family. He was an avid Patriots, Red Sox and Bruins fan. he was loved by so many and will surely be missed. Loving son of late Anna D. Salisbury (Papp) and Joseph C. Papp, he is survived by former spouse, Mildred Papp of Avon. he was the loving father of Judy Papp of Avon, Donna Mann and son-in-law Eric Mann of Avon, also survived by George, Paul, and Angel Papp; devoted brother of Joseph Papp, Betty Gould, John Papp, and the late James and Robert Papp; the very best Grampy of Tiffany, Millie-Anne, Makayla, Eric, Olivia, and Dani-Lynn. Also loved by his grand dogs, Lexi and Daisy. Visiting hours will be held at the Hurley Funeral Home, 134 So. Main St. (Rte. 28), Randolph, Thursday, October 20, from 4-7 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment is private.
