George I. Loper AGE: 88 • Hopewell Township George I. Loper, 88, of Hopewell Township died early Friday evening October 14, 2016 at The Cumberland Manor. The husband of the late Irene J. Loper (nee Urban), he and his wife had been married for nearly 60 years at the time of her death in 2000. George was born in Cedarville and was the son of the late John E. and Bessie Stanton Loper. He was a 1945 graduate of BHS and had lived at the same Hopewell address since 1957. An electrician by trade, Mr. Loper worked for many years for IBEW #592 (now #351) before retiring in 1988. Mr. Loper was a US Navy Veteran of World War II; having been honorably discharged in 1949. He enjoyed painting in his retirement as well as building projects. He is survived by three sons, Charles Dennis Loper (Angelika), Donald G. Loper (Kathryn) and Michael D. Loper (Debra), all of Upper Deerfield Township and his special friend, Millie Mossbrooks of Millville. George was predeceased by a brother, John D. Loper and a sister, Ruth Dent. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services at the Freitag Funeral Home, 137 W. Commerce St., Bridgeton on Friday morning October 21st at 11 o'clock where friends will be received from 10 until 11. The burial, with military honors, will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Cedarville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions should be made to the Cedar Hill Cemetery Association, c/o Allan Willis, 23 Willis Lane, Cedarville, NJ 08311.
