He is preceded in death by his parents, Hensley and Ethel Hay. George is survived by his wife of 63 years, Thelma (Simpson) Hay; daughters, Shirley Hay and Shiela Hay-Reynolds; granddaughter, Michelle Hay; brother, John Hay Sr.; and numerous nieces and nephews. George was a Korean-era US Army Veteran. He was a coal miner for more than 30 years. Following his retirement, he continued to work security for many years. He was a lifetime resident of northern Warrick County. He never met a stranger and was loved by all who met him. The family would like to thank Carolyn Purviance, neighbors, friends and Deaconess VNA Home Care and Hospice for the loving care and support throughout George's illness. Funeral Service will be 11 a.m. CST, Saturday, February 18, 2017, at Pemberton-Bradley Funeral Home, 301 N. Main St., Lynnville, IN. Visitation 4 – 8 p.m. TODAY Friday and 9-11 am on Saturday.
