In memory of
George Foster
1973 ~ 2017 It is with extreme sorrow that we announce the unexpected passing of George Allen Foster, 44, (1973-2017), on Sunday 16, 2017, due to heart valve failure. George was born in Independence, Kansas, to William K. Foster and Carol Dean Parks. There he attended school, grew to manhood, and completed an Associate's Degree as a Respiratory Therapist. He later earned a degree from the University of Phoenix in Business Management. He was currently employed by Thyssenkrupp of Salt Lake City. George married his best friend, Heidi Annette Goff Shafto, in June 2008. Their union was later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. George was loved by all who knew him. Friendship, a smile and love came easily to him. He was able to bring laughter and fun into any situation. He loved to BBQ, bike ride, watch football, and spend his time outdoors. His family always came first to him. He found joy in taking on some new project or repair work around the house. He was known as "Mr. Fix-it," and as an avid Oklahoma University fan. He was a "boy's man"; as a scout leader, a little league football coach, and as a priesthood advisor. He also served his country in the US Naval Reserve. Spending time with George around a camp fire or on the patio was always special, like sharing a memory with a friend or laughing with John Wayne. George left us way too soon, with so many plans and dreams unfulfilled, but left his mark of dedication and love on so many of us. He is survived by his wife, Heidi, and their blended family: Emily Kate and Quinn Allen Foster, Emily Rose and Spencer Shafto, and Rachel Roberts. He is also survived by his brother, William (Willie) Foster and many family members in Independence, Kansas, Oklahoma and Utah. Funeral services for George will be held, Friday, April 21, at 11:00 a.m., at the Jenkins-Soffe Funeral Chapel, 1007 West South Jordan Pkwy. A viewing will be held at the Funeral Chapel, on Thursday, April 20, from 6-8 p.m., and Friday at 10:00-10:45 a.m., prior to the funeral. Interment will be in the South Jordan City Cemetery. The family wishes to thank everyone who has extended sympathy and love to them during this trying time Online condolences at www.jenkins-soffe.com ... Show More
