George M. "Jerry" Cranston
George "Jerry" M. Cranston of Kettle Falls passed away on Oct. 12, 2016 in Spokane. He was born in Daisy on Oct. 25, 1932, the son of George and Lydia (Mutterer) Cranston. Jerry was raised in the Daisy area and graduated from Kettle Falls High School in 1950. Soon after graduation, he joined the United States Navy, where he served his country until he was honorably discharged in 1954. Jerry had a long career as a truck driver and he retired from North Central Construction. From 1975 through 2005, he owned and operated the Lakeside Inn in Daisy. Jerry loved spending time in the outdoors and spent much of his spare time hunting and fishing. He very seldom passed up an opportunity to play in a game of Cribbage. He had many family and friends that he cared for greatly. He was dearly loved and will be deeply missed. He was preceded in death by his parents and by one brother, Bill Cranston. Jerry is survived by his partner, Valerie Hall; son, Tim Cranston; daughters, Terri Ann Cranston and Patricia Cranston; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The service for Mr. Cranston will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 22 at the Kettle Falls Gun Club. If one wishes, memorial contributions may be given to Shriner's Children's Hospital.
