CAMPBELL George N. George N. Campbell, 69, passed away, September 13, 2016, in Atlanta, GA. George attended Gunckel Elementary School and graduated from Macomber Vocational High School in 1965. Three days later, George enlisted in the U.S. Navy, and served his country for 12 years, where he fought in the Vietnam War. George ended his naval career in 1977 in Philadelphia with an honorable discharge. George was employed in Toledo, as a Welder for various companies and was a Brakeman for B & O Railway System. He relocated to Atlanta, GA, in 1994, where he was a Subcontractor for Hardin Industrial Contractors, and he also owned several businesses before his illness. George married the love of his life, Phyllis Brown Pettaway, in 1996. They were inseparable and stayed happily married until his death. George leaves to cherish his memory, wife, Phyllis; daughters, Tara Campbell Walker, Jennifer Jeffries, Cherron (Tracy) Pettaway, and Shana Pettaway; sons, Gregory (Tish)Campbell and Issac (Ina) Pettaway Jr.; brother, Harold Campbell; sister, Jannifere Sue Campbell; 12 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren, and a host of family and friends. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2016, at 2:00 p.m., at the House of Day Funeral Service, Bishop Marvin Crittendenton, officiating. As published in The Blade
