George Cabell Busick "Chris" Chris Busick passed away on September 17 in Lake Ridge, VA at the age of 97. He was born and raised in McLean in a family with deep roots in Virginia. A graduate of Western High School in the District of Columbia, he became an officer in the Army in World War II, and later earned a law degree from George Washington University. For 42 years Chris was a trademark attorney in Washington with Mason, Fenwick, & Lawrence and later with Mobil. He was a faithful Episcopalian and a member of, among others, St. Peters Episcopal Church in Arlington, where he served as Senior Warden. Chris was a gentleman of great charm and enthusiasm who loved tennis, big band music, dancing, and a good martini before dinner. After losing his eyesight, he much appreciated the Library of Congress books on tape service. Chris is survived by Peggy, his wife of 71 years; his children, Barbara (Dan) Wicks of Reston, VA and Kip (Libby) Busick of Rockville, MD; four grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 22 at 11 a.m. at Westminster at Lake Ridge, 12185 Clipper Drive, Lake Ridge, VA. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to Central Rappahannock Regional Library, 1201 Caroline Street, Fredericksburg, VA 22401.
