George Vernon Brown, 75, passed away Thursday, October 6th 2016. Born in Pinebluff, Arkansas to Willie and Bessie Brown on September 14, 1941. He attended Coleman High School. He joined the US NAVY and was honorable discharged in 1962. He worked at US Steel Southworks where he met his wife. He also worked at the Budd Plant and co-owned Quality Heathcare and First Choice Home Supply with his wife. Survived by his loving wife, Valerie Brown; two daughters, Kelenka (Richard) Chambliss and Elena Duncan; one son Demetrius (Debra) Dabadee; one brother, Julius Brown; Special friends, Lawrence Davis and Roosevelt Jackson; One brother Rodgers; 7 sisters-in-law; 1 brother-in-law; 13 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren and a host of cousins, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 2:00PM at Manuel Memorial Funeral Home 421 W. 5th Avenue, Gary, IN. Viewing will begin prior to service at 12:00PM.
