Genevivie Boyd, "Jimi" to her friends, slipped from Earth's bonds on October 9, 2016. She joins her husband of nearly 60 years, William and her eldest son, Howard, in Heaven's warm embrace. Born in Brea, CA October 19, 1927, she met Bill in high school. In 1946 they slipped off to Las Vegas to get married. Jimi would say she conceived five children and brought forth three. Howard, Sheldon and Kevin. Jimi and Bill eventually found a love for Lone Pine, CA and moved into a home in the Alabama Hills where they lived until Bill passed. Howard had a home in nearby Big Pine, CA and Jimi was able to find a home across the street to move into. She lived there for a while after Howard passed. Eventually she relocated to Corona, CA to be near Sheldon and Kevin and moved into Valencia Terrace where she gained many new friends. When life became too difficult alone, the boys found her a very loving care home, Inspiration House, in Corona where she lived out her final days on Earth. Jimi, who was also nicknamed "Jimmy" and "Jimmie" at various times, is loved by her grandchildren and Great-grandchildren. She loved the outdoors, the changing of the leaves in autumn, knitting and nuts. Yes. Her mother said, "You could drop a nut in pig slop and Jimi would eat it". Well, I guess that explains her love of Payday candy bars. Jimi's request to be buried in Lone Pine was fulfilled on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Lone Pine cemetery. Her body will forever enjoy being in the shadow of Mt. Whitney as her soul rejoices in the glow of heaven. Until we see you again. With love, Sheldon, Kevin and family.
