Geneva B. Jones
Geneva B. Jones, 92, of Clarks Summit, died Monday afternoon at Geisinger Mountain View Care Center, Scranton. She was the wife of Frank W. Jones Jr., who died in 1979. Born in Booneville, Ky., daughter of the late Jess and Hazel Woodard Bowman, she was a graduate of Lincoln County High School and went on to attend Harper College in New York City. Geneva proudly served her country in the Navy during World War II. She was a former member of the Order of Eastern Star in Scranton as well as a member of Dalton United Methodist Church. Surviving are a son, Robert Jones and wife, Judy, Dalton; a sister, Della Baker, Crab Orchard, Ky.; a granddaughter, Kara Martin and husband, Christopher, Duryea; a grandson, Dr. Robert Jones II, Philadelphia; two great-grandchildren, Connor and Reagan Martin; several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a son, Frank W. Jones III; and several brothers and sisters. The family would like to thank the staff at Geisinger Mountain View Care Center for the wonderful care and compassion they gave to Geneva during her stay. A memorial service will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family in Shady Lane Cemetery. The family will receive friends from noon until time of service.
