She was in the banking business for several years and and accountant and/bookkeeper in the construction and medical fields, as well as an office manager. She also had a very accurate aim with a firearm and bow and arrow and was an avid reader. Gayle was a devoted mom that raised independent, educated daughters. She enjoyed being John's best friend and a grandma "Me Maw" more than anything else in the world. Her friends described her as enthusiastic, determined, humorous, spirited and loyal.
