FREDERICK RAYMOND "FRITZ" STOTHOFF Sr.
DES PLAINES - Frederick "Fritz" Raymond Stothoff Sr., 77, passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 31, 2017, at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital following a brief illness. Born March 29, 1940, in Allentown, Pennsylvania, the son of Frederick Newton Stothoff Jr. and Mary Elizabeth (Mutzl) Stothoff, Fritz was an avid sportsman throughout high school and college. He was a proud member of the Chi Phi Fraternity at Pennsylvania State University, where he received his bachelor's degree. Throughout his life, he held key positions in professional, personnel/industrial relations associations and served as chief negotiator to more than 100 multi-union labor contracts. In addition, he held various human resource management and executive recruiting positions. He had firsthand knowledge of several industries, including primary and fabricated metals, electrical and electronic equipment, instruments, wholesale durable goods, mining, and consumer products. He will be remembered for his passion for sports, his gregarious and fun-loving nature and, in earlier years, time spent during summers at Long Beach Island, NJ with his sons and their loving mother, Leah (Bibleheimer) Stothoff. Fritz is survived by three sons: Scott (Jennifer), Fred Jr. (Anastasia), and Tom (Cheryl); and several grandchildren. He will be missed by all, including many friends. Preceding Fritz in death were his parents and his brother, John (Raedell) Stothoff. A private memorial service will be held out of state at a later date. May you rest in peace, Fritz.
