Freddie C. Kight
Lt. Col. Freddie C. Kight (USAF RET), 97, of Panama City, Florida passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at a local care center. Mr. Kight was the last surviving Night Fighter of WWII and served in WWII, Korea and the Vietnam Wars. He retired after 27 years of service from the United States Air Force. He is preceded in death by grandson Sgt. Kevin Scott Kight of Panama City Beach, FL.; granddaughter Morgan Kight and great grandson Reid Carter. He is survived by his loving wife Madeline M. Kight of over 72 years; children Charles Kight of Panama City, FL., and Wayne Kight (Eileen) of Panama City, FL.; brother Junior Kight (Crystal) Of Charleston, WVA. He is also survived by the following grandchildren: Christy Kight, Robin Kight, Cameron Kight, Cory Kight, Amy Carter (Robert) Jason Liss, Joshuah Hendrix; great – grandchildren Brandon Kight, Kaylee and Kent Carter, T.J. and Jace Liss and Rylee Hendrix . Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Kent Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Family will receive 6:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. Friday, April 21, 2017 at the funeral home. Special thanks to Covenant Hospice for their wonderful care and to Father Anthony Nyuyen of St. Dominic for spiritual support.
