Fred J. Bozzo Sr.
Fred J. Bozzo, Sr. June 8, 1938 – September 13, 2016 Fred passed away on Tuesday, September 13th, after a long battle against diabetes and Alzheimer's. He was 78 years old. Fred was a dedicated architect, pilot, and Rotarian. He was an honest man with the utmost integrity. As a young man, he was offered an internship with Frank Lloyd Wright for his design aptitude and potential. Fred designed many municipal, commercial, and residential buildings throughout his career as an architect. Fred had a passion for flying and after he obtained his pilot's license, logged 3,500 flying hours over the course of 30 years. He volunteered with the Flying Samaritans, transporting doctors and nurses to impoverished communities to provide medical attention to those in need. The organization honored Fred in 1991 for his countless volunteer missions. Fred shared his passion for flying with the Air Explorer Scouts as an instructor and mentor to those youths wishing to become pilots. He was also an Assistant Scoutmaster to his sons' Boy Scout troop. As a Turlock Rotarian, Fred volunteered his time and skills in many activities. He was voted by his Rotarian club as a Paul Harris Fellow, for his substantial contributions locally. He was also presented the Humanitarian of the Year award in recognition of his dedication and outstanding achievement in 1994 by the Turlock Chamber of Commerce. Fred was also a friend to all stray animals. His kind heart was a magnet which drew many of them to him. All were welcomed to find a new home with Fred and Pat. Fred is survived by his devoted family; his loving wife, Pat in Coulterville, CA; his son, Fred, Jr., daughter-in-law, LaRhonda, and grandchildren, Brooke and Garrett, in Coulterville, CA; his son, Chris and daughter-in-law, Ellen, in Danville, CA; his sister, Helene Kroeckel and family in Santa Clara, CA, his brother, Ray and family in Idaho Falls, ID; and his boyhood friend and cousin, Wesley Harrison, Jr. in Sunnyvale, CA. A memorial service to celebrate Fred's life will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at 11 o'clock a.m. at the Turlock Airpark, 519 East Greenway Avenue, Turlock, CA.
