Frank P. Hall, 97 NORTH BERWICK - Frank P. Hall, 97, lifelong resident of North Berwick, died Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2016. Frank died doing what he loved: tending to his garden. He was born Oct. 5, 1919, in Berwick, the son of Andrew Jackson Hall and Florence Ham Hall, and a 1939 graduate of North Berwick High School. Frank was very proud to have served in the U.S. Army where he'd served in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, and the Battle of the Bulge in Germany. Frank was a recipient of the Purple Heart for his heroism. Upon his return home, Frank held many jobs to raise his family; among them, postal delivery, mechanic for Harland Day and snowplowing for the town. In 1949, Frank joined his brother, Francis Hall, at Triangle Motors, which they owned and operated until 2007. Frank will be remembered for his involvement in town activities, his fundraising efforts for numerous organizations; always willing to help out where ever he was needed. He was a member and past commander of the American Legion Quint Cheney Post #87, Yorkshire Lodge #179, Pioneer Scottish Rite, KORA Shrine Temple, York County Shrine Club, KORA Shrine International, KORA Renegades, KORA Motor Corps, VFW, AMVETS Post #3, Somersworth Eagles, Lodge of Elks #1470, member of the M.O.A.L. Antique Car Club and North Berwick Rod and Gun Club. Frank was an avid hunter and fisherman. He will be remembered for his love of his garden and cutting his own firewood right up until his death. He loved all the fairs and just last week, Frank took his final ride in the Fryeburg Fair parade and celebrated his 97th birthday. He and his wife spent summers at their Wells Beach cottage, and had traveled extensively throughout the United States, Europe and Canada. Frank loved his time spent with his family; being a father and grandfather, telling his many stories of his adventures and sharing his knowledge with all of them. His cherished possession was his 1941 four-door Cadillac convertible. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Bessie (Carnegie) Hall of North Berwick; 4 sons, Franklin Hall of North Berwick, Andrew Hall and his wife Ann of Sanford, Sherm Hall and his wife Linda of Sanford, and Ritchie Hall and his wife Sherry of North Berwick; his daughter Kathleen Morgan and her husband Michael of Severn, Md.; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Visiting hours will be held Sunday, Oct. 16, from 5-8 p.m., with Masonic services at 7:30 p.m, at the Johnson Funeral Home, 26 Market St., North Berwick. Funeral services with Military Honors will be held Monday, Oct. 17, at 10 a.m. at Bethel Christian Church, 129 Lower Main St., North Berwick, followed by interment in the Southern Maine Veterans Cemetery, Springvale.
