Frank R. Burge
Burge Frank R. Burge, age 72, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, October 13, 2016. He was born in Akron, Ohio on May 5, 1944 to Reginald and Vivian (Price) Burge. He grew up in Youngstown and later graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor's Degree in music education. Frank honorably served his country in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Lower Lights Community Church of the Nazarene where he volunteered as a Spiritual Care Provider at the Lower Lights Christian Health Care Center. Frank performed in Vaud-Villities during the 1970's. He also taught music to people with disabilities at Orient State Institution. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Carl Burge, sister Patricia Stevens and mother-in-law Helen Hodge (whom he thought of like a mother). He is survived by his wife, Linda; children, Jim, Amy, Jeff, Lee, Jeff and Jerry; 19 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; brother, Charles Burge; sister, Regina Ricks; the Hodge & Dean families; many nieces and nephews and the many friends he had at Whorley Terrace. He will be remembered for his willingness to unconditionally help others, his desire to serve the Lord and his gift of never meeting a stranger. We will miss you Dad, but are comforted that one day we will see you again. Family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at the HOPE & HEART FUNERAL HOME by SCHOEDINGER, 3030 W. Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio where funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Michael Vallageon officiating. Interment Sunset Cemetery.
