Francis John "Jack" Devaney
Francis John "Jack" Devaney BATON ROUGE, LA - Francis John "Jack" Devaney, age 86, passed away peacefully on Sept. 28, 2016 in Baton Rouge, LA from complications of Parkinson's Disease. Jack lived in Goose Creek, SC for 16 years before moving to Baton Rouge in 2014. Jack's wife of 50 years, Connie, preceded him in death in 2006. Jack is survived by three children, Karen Devaney Martin, Mary Devaney Golden, and Steve Devaney; and granddaughters, Joanne Martin, and Caitlin Golden. Jack was born on Dec. 26, 1929 in Butler, NJ. He graduated from Rutgers University, '51, and UNC, '55, where he met the love of his life, Connie, whom he married in 1956. He served in the Korean War, US Army, from 1951-1953. Interment will be in the family cemetery in Hattiesburg, MS. Donations in Jack's honor may be made to Catholic Charities or the Parkinson's Disease Foundation.
