WARNOCK Frances "Fran" Helen Warnock, 92, of the Kansas City and Tulsa areas, wife, mother, and social worker, entered into heaven, after a brief illness, on September 23, 2016. Fran was born November 21, 1923, the third daughter of Frank and Ruth Barkow. Fran leaves her brother, Herb Barkow; four children, Jill, Alan, Ruth, Mary; six grandchildren, Kristina, Nicole, Scott, Philip, Bryce, Stacey; three sons in law, Sandy, David and Jim; and many other family members and friends. She survived her loving spouse, Dudley, to whom she was married for 50 years, and two sisters, Kay and Mary Rose. Funeral Services will be on October 21, 2016 at 11:00 o'clock at St. Agnes Church, 5250 Mission Rd, Roeland Park, KS, (913) 262-2400. There will be a reception following the funeral in which guests are welcome. She was a member of St. Agnes Church for four decades. Fran was born in Atchison, KS. She attended Catholic schools, including Mount St. Scholastica and Loyola University in Chicago, where she obtained her masters degree in social work. She was proud of her service as a Wave in the U.S. Navy during World War II. After she obtained her MSW in social work, she worked at Catholic Charities in Kansas City. She and Dudley were married in 1950 and raised their children in the Kansas City area. After Dudley retired, they enjoyed their time in Alamo, Texas for 25 years. Recently, she lived in Tulsa, Ok at St. Simeon's Senior Center . Fran loved playing bridge, exercising, dancing and socializing with friends and people in need. During her calm and optimistic life, she told funny, historical and notable stories. Among the most incredible of her fortunate life experiences include her time with Flannery O'Connor, Amelia Earhart, and John Cameron Swayze.
