Frances F. Brown
Frances F. Brown Knoxville, TN Frances Frederica Brown, of Knoxville, went to her heavenly home on Sunday February 12, 2017. She lived a full 92 years as a daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She was born with her twin sister, Ruth Brown Vineyard on August 16, 1924, in Tazewell, Tennessee to C.M. and Delena Brown. After the twins were born, the family moved to Pineville, Kentucky, where her father worked as a pharmacist. After graduating from Pineville High School, her father moved the family to Knoxville. Frances worked at Fulton Sylphon. She was worked at Miller's Department Store for twenty years in various positions. She finished her career as a member representative and loan officer at TVA Credit Union. She gave of herself at her church, Fifth Avenue Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday school and served as a deacon. She her enjoyed her time at the Love Kitchen cooking and delivering meals with her friends, Helen and Ellen. Her extended family and friends benefitted from her elaborate dinners and get-togethers. She looked forward to being with her Get Along Gang friends. She is preceded in death by parents, C.M. and Delena Brown; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruth and Bowen Vineyard, and Reba and Jim Cornett; brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Mary Lee Brown; and nephews, Shawn Douglas Vineyard and John Tracy Vineyard. She never had any children of her own but she mothered many children at church and in her extended family. Each birth was a joyful event to her! Those left to cherish her memory are nieces, Pat Vineyard Seals, Mary Charles Salamone; nephews, Eric Vineyard, Doug Cornett, and Steve Brown. She has many great nieces and nephews. In the last few years she has many great-great-nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Broadmore Senior Living and Hillview Nursing Home for caring for her. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 16, 2017, at Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m., with Dr. Don Olive officiating. Interment will follow in Lynnhurst Cemetery.
