Foy A. Greenwood, Jr. Chesapeake - Foy Alvin Greenwood, Jr., 72, died February 12, 2017. A native of Chesapeake, VA, he was the son of the late Foy A. and Emma E. Greenwood, Sr. Foy retired from SUPSHIP Portsmouth after 39-1/2 years of service and 8 years at QED. He was an active member of Holy Communion Lutheran Church. He served as Master Mason Nansemond #77 Worshipful Master- District Deputy Grand Master, High Priest of Mount Nebo #20, District Deputy Grand High Priest of District #21, Portsmouth Scottish Rite 33rd Degree IGH, Commander of Portsmouth Commandery #5 Knights Templar. Foy is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Joyce. Survivors also include his sister, Lori Umberger (Lenny); son, Al Greenwood and wife Charissa; and two granddaughters, Riley and Emma Greenwood. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be deeply missed by his family and friends. A Commandery Ceremony will be held at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel on Thursday, Feb. 16, at 7 PM, with visitation following until 9 PM. A funeral service with Masonic Rites will be held in the Chapel on Friday at 1 PM. Burial will follow in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens.
