Ford R. Byron Jr.
R. Byron, Ford Jr., 69, passed away peacefully on October 12th with his loving wife by his side. Byron fought a courageous battle with cancer. Byron grew up in Louisville and was a member of the Waggener High School class of 1965. He attended the University of Louisville School of Business; graduating in 1969, and was a member of the Phi Kappa Tau fraternity. He worked for Citi Group Financial. Byron enjoyed skeet shooting, boating and being on the water, tennis, snow skiing, was a member of the NRA, an avid U of L fan, and loved spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; R. Byron Ford Sr. and Eleanor Palmer Ford; and his sisters, Carol O'Bryan and Jean Berry. Byron is survived by his wife of 45 years; JoAnn "Jo" Pitchford Ford; brother-in-law, John Pitchford (Rita); nephews, Brandon Pitchford and Rollo O. Fox (Peabody); and great nephew, Ron Fox (Jennifer) and his beloved shorkie Bandit.Byron's family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr.Stephens,Nurse Kim and the Norton cancer institute staff. A service to celebrate Byron's life will be 10:00 AM, Monday at Pearson Funeral Home, 149 Breckenridge Lane. Visitation will be 1-4, Sunday at Pearson's. Memorial contributions can be made to Beargrass Christian Church or the Norton cancer institute.
