YUMA, Ariz. — Floyd Wayne Rimmel, 79, died peacefully on February 9, 2017, in Yuma, Arizona, surrounded by his family. Floyd was born May 6, 1937, the youngest of four children, to Dallas and Velma (Fredrick) Rimmel, who both preceded him in death. He married his high school sweetheart, Evelyn Snyder on November 12, 1955. Their marriage was blessed with three children. After farming and spending over 30 years at Zollner, Floyd retired to travel the country with his wife. He enjoyed hiking, four-wheeling and was a champion card player. In addition to his wife, Evelyn, he is survived by his three children, Cindy (Neil) Aldrich, Bridget Gaff and Floyd Rimmel, Jr. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Heidi (Matthew) Fowler, Angela Scott, Chad Gaff, Mark Rimmel and Janel Rimmel; and four great-grandchildren, Shyann Matthews, Angelic Matthews, Evelyn Fowler, and Haelee Rimmel. Also surviving are two sisters, Betty Klopfenstein and Dortha (Richard) Herendeen; one brother, Elvia (Jennie) Rimmel; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services are 11 a.m. Friday February 17, 2017 at Harper Funeral Homes, Albion Chapel, 771 Trail Ridge Road, Albion, with visitation one hour prior.
