Floyd A. Bretzius
Floyd A. Bretzius, 92, of Myerstown, passed away Sunday at the VA Medical Center, Lebanon. Born Jan. 18, 1924, in Pine Grove, he was a son of the late Jessie E. and Ada S. Hubler Bretzius. He was an Army veteran who served during World War II and landed on Omaha Beach on D-Day. Floyd worked for Quaker Alloy. He was a life member of Pine Grove VFW Post 3432. He enjoyed spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Grace Daubert Bretzius, in 1970; second wife, Ethel Granger Bretzius, in 1997; a son, Daniel Bretzius; four brothers, Paul, Carl, Jesse and David Bretzius; three sisters, Evelyn DeLong, Thelma Loy and Bertha Wert. Surviving are two daughters, Darlene and husband, David Weaver, Jonestown, and Patricia and husband, Rick Sauer, Myerstown; a son, Dale Bretzius, North Augusta, S.C.; nine grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert Bretzius; a sister, Freida Donmoyer; nieces and nephews, A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at H.L. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove, with Eric Snyder officiating. There will be a viewing from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
