Fielding Randle Magness PLAINFIELD: Fielding Randle Magness, age 90. of Plainfield, Ohio, passed on Saturday, October 15, 2016. Fielding was born on November 17, 1925 to the late Jay and Margaret Magness. Fielding is survived by his wife, Elizabeth (Shaw) Magness, his son and daughter-in-law, William and Kathy Bryan, his nieces, Beverly Cover and Janice (Cover) Bush; his nephew, Tom Cover; his granddaughters, Alicia (Bryan) Motyka and Lindsay (Bryan) McCord, and three great-grandchildren. Along with his parents, Fielding is preceded in death by his sister, Marilyn (Magness) Cover. Fielding was a proud WWII and Korean War Veteran with overseas duty in Germany. He retired October 31, 1965 as master sergeant after nearly 22 years in military service. He was a book lover, history buff, and an avid spelling game and chess player. He also enjoyed attending Army Reunions and Plainfield High School Reunions throughout the years. Calling hours for Fielding Magness will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at the Free Funeral Home, Coshocton from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. followed by a Memorial Service at 2 P.M. with Pastor John W. Armstrong officiating. A reception will be held at Plainfield United Methodist Church at approximately 3:30 P.M., Wednesday.
