Fern Mae (Bueschel) Halperin died on February 9, 2017 peacefully in her home, with her children. She lived a life of graciousness and loving kindness. Born April 18, 1928, she grew up on a dairy farm in Plymouth, Wisconsin. She was a devoted, loving and caring mother of 3 children, Susan(Jim), Doug(Theresa), Brian(Barbara), Grandmother to 13, Great Grandmother to 7, and Great Great Grandmother to 1. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and dear friends. Fern settled in Goleta in 1971 and has lived in Santa Barbara since 1976. Fern worked in the Medical Field for over 55 years. With great care and kindness for patients, she finished her career with Dr. Fisher and Dr. Allen where she worked for over 33 years. She was an active member and President of the Ostomy Club. After retiring she volunteered at Cottage Hospital. She was a world traveler visiting all seven continents. Hawaii was her favorite place, and she enjoyed vacations there with all her children. Love of dogs and puppies, collecting teddy bears, doing crossword puzzles, watching the weather channel, Dr. Phil and Judge Judy brought her great joy. She loved and was loved by all those that came into her life. Fern leaves a legacy of love, generosity and kindness ..... that essence will live on in the hearts of her Family and Friends.
