Everett H. DeSombre
Everett H. DeSombre, 90, of The Meadows Manor in Dallas, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2016, in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. He was born in Plymouth, the son of the late Hugo and Emma Hagel DeSombre. He graduated from Plymouth High School in 1944. After high school, Everett enlisted in the Navy, working in the Air Corps at Pensacola, Fla. He later was employed by Swift Co. and then worked more than 40 years at the Forty Fort Lumber Co. waiting on customers and making cabinets and other wood projects. He married Edna Mae Harrison on April 28, 1947, and they resided in Forty Fort until they relocated to an apartment at the Meadows Manor in Dallas. Preceding Everett in death were his parents; his brothers, Robert and Richard DeSombre; and his sons, Kurt and James. Everett loved his faith and family and his walks around the pond. In addition to his wife of 69 years, he will be greatly missed by his two daughters-in-law; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Friends may pay their respects from 4 to 5 p.m. Saturday at Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas. The Rev. Dr. Michael Stine from the Forty Fort United Methodist Church will officiate a service at 5 p.m. and burial will be arranged at a later date.
