Everett H. DeSombre
DALLAS — Everett H. DeSombre, 90, of the Meadows Manor in Dallas, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2016, at the General Hospital in Wilkes-Barre. He was born in Plymouth, the son of the late Hugo and Emma (Hagel) DeSombre. He graduated from Plymouth High School in 1944. After high school, Everett enlisted in the U.S. Navy, working in the Air Core at Pensacola, Florida. He later was employed at Swift Company and then worked over 40 years at the Forty Fort Lumber Company waiting on customers and making cabinets and other wood projects. He married Edna Mae Harrison on April 28, 1947, and they resided in Forty Fort, until they relocated to an apartment at the Meadows Manor in Dallas. Preceding Everett in death were his parents; his brothers, Robert and Richard DeSombre; and his sons, Kurt and James. Everett loved his faith and family and his walks around the pond. In addition to his wife of 69 years, he will be greatly missed by his two daughters-in-law; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Friends may pay their respects 4 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, at The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas. The Rev. Dr. Michael Stine from the Forty Fort United Methodist Church will officiate a service at 5 p.m. and burial will be arranged at a later date.
