TELL CITY – Evelyn Toothman, 87 passed away Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016, at Oakwood Health Campus in Tell City. She was born March 1, 1929 to James Elmo and Stella (Stephens) Lawalin. She was united in marriage on Aug. 19, 1947 to Alfred Toothman. Evelyn retired from General Electric. She was a member of the Women of the Moose and the VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed spending time with her family, gambling, dancing, and watching soap-operas. Surviving are her children, Darrell Toothman (Jeannie), Sheila James (Tiger), Mark Toothman, and Jim Toothman all of Tell City; Dallas Toothman (RaeAnne) of Mt. Carmel, IL, and Sherri Weber (Dean) of Boonville, IN; and a brother Lloyd Lawalin (Bertha) of Cannelton. She has 12 Grandchildren, Christopher Toothman, Kelly Jackson, Matthew Toothman, Teri James, Kara Knable, Nicholas and Jay Toothman, Allie Silvernale, Cody and Zachary Toothman, Beau and Tyler Weber. There are 11 great-grandchildren and 1 on the way. Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband, Alfred Toothman; three brothers, Edward Lawalin, Leroy Lawalin, and Walter "Curt"Lawalin; one sister, Hazel Ramsey; and grandson-in-law, Johnny Knable. Funeral services will be at 10am Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home. Burial will follow in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 18 from 2-7pm and Wednesday 8:30-10am at the funeral home.
