In memory of
Ethel Irene Newcomb
Ethel Irene Newcomb 1919 - 2016 Ethel was born in Hiawatha, Nebraska on February 4, 1919 to Frank Nelson and Elda Perdue Nelson. She was the eldest of three siblings, brothers James and Cecil Nelson and sister Fay Boucher. Ethel married Dorence Newcomb and through this union five children were born. The family moved from Cambridge, Nebraska to Boise in 1950. Ethel was a waitress at many establishments in Boise, CC Anderson being one of them. She loved to sew and worked at several fabric stores. My mother was a wonderful seamstress and could make about anything you wanted. She made my niece, my sisters and I many of our school clothes. She also enjoyed crocheting and lots of crafts. We will miss all the fun things she made for each holiday, decorating her home with them. The family was also the recipients of many of her crafts. Growing up we all remember her famous fried chicken every Sunday. Ethel was a wonderful mother and grandmother. We will all miss her so much. She will be loved and remembered always. Ethel is survived by her son, Richard Newcomb (Sharon) of Nampa, her daughters Barbara Davis (Hulon) of Eagle, Carolyn Leonard (Bob), Bonnie Weber and Linda Brunger; and many grand, great-grand and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dorence; three grandsons: Taylor Gramkow, Jeffery Weber, and Josh Weber; and two sons-in-law, Bob Weber and Dewey Brunger. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 20, 2016 at the Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel. A committal service will follow at Dry Creek Cemetery. There will be a viewing and the family will greet friends today, (Wednesday), Oct. 19, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at the Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel.
