Esther L. Kelly
Esther L. Kelly, age 96, resident of Orchard Manor, Grove City, Pa., formerly of Hillside Home, Meadville, passed away on March 12, 2017. She was born on July 22, 1920, in Erie, Pa., daughter of the late Chester Luther and Mattie Wolf Luther. On July 1, 1939 she married Roger "Rich" M. Kelly who preceded her in death on September 9, 1978. Mrs. Kelly graduated from Academy High School. She moved from Millcreek to Cambridge Springs in 1974. She worked for the Crawford County Office of Aging as Director of the Cambridge Springs Senior Center for eight years, until her retirement in 1984. She was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church, most recently Cambridge Springs First United Methodist, and was an active member of the Cambridge Springs Public Library. Surviving family include daughter Pat Kelly of Meadville; sons Roger Kelly of Albany, N.Y., and Tom Kelly of Grove City, Pa.; her daughters-in-law with whom she had a special relationship Rita Panameroff Kelly of Hamilton, Va., Kathleen Gasparich Kelly of Albany, Susan Weigel Kelly of Grove City, and Sheila Santia Kelly of Erie; and nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, along with their spouses and partners. She was preceded in death by her brother Ted Luther; sons Donovan and Jerry Kelly; her companion of 25 years Clifton Hipple; and best friend Helen Jackson. Friends may call on the family on Friday, April 21, 2017 from 12 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 1:30 p.m. at Burton Funeral Home, 602 West10th Street. Burial will be private.
