In memory of
McMaster, Estelle Estelle McMaster, age 98 of Stratford, beloved wife of the late William McMaster Jr. passed away peacefully with family at her bedside in Monroe on Thursday, October 13, 2016. Estelle was born in Georgetown, CT on May 22, 1918 to the late Waldyslawa and Stanley Drab. A longtime Fairfield resident, she was an officer of the Democratic Women's Club, member of the Democratic Town Committee including 13 years as District 1 Leader, commissioner of both the WPCA and Flood and Erosion Board and a Justice of the Peace. She proudly served on the RTM for 10 years. She was also a member of the St. Anthony's Women's Guild, Seniors and Bible Study groups. She served on the Board of the Pine Creek Area Association and Veteran's of Foreign Wars; all of Fairfield. As a Navy wife, she lived in Pearl Harbor, HI; Norfolk, VA; Charlestown, SC; Jacksonville, FL; Boston, MA and the Sub Base in New London, CT. Estelle was predeceased by beloved sons Ronald McMaster and William McMaster III; brothers Edward and Joseph and sisters-in-law Charlotte and Mary Ann Drab; niece Kay Maloney and cousins Stanley Pawlowski and John Korwik. Survivors are her son Robert and his wife Jo-Ann and grandchildren William B McMaster, Tari Onthank of Fairfield, Yolanda Kostenko and her husband Stephen of Monroe, Ronald McMaster and Andrea Plati of Fairfield, Garrett McMaster and his wife Vicki of Fairfield, Candida Johnson and her husband Thomas of Springville, UT and James McMaster of NYC. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren: Kyle and Alyssa Kostenko, Joshua and Dylan McMaster, Savannah and Joshua Olson and Nathan Johnson. She is also lovingly survived by Tess Alavata who she loved like a daughter and Taber Onthank who she loved like a grandson. Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at St. Mark's Church, 500 Wigwam Lane, Stratford. Interment will be private. Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Fairfield Funeral Home of Edmund Dougiello, 36 South Pine Creek Road, Fairfield.
