Ervin J. Spahn Evansville, Ind. Ervin J. Spahn, age 82, of rural Evansville, passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2017, at the Deaconess VNA Plus Charlier Hospice Center. Ervin was born on July 9, 1934, in Evansville, to the late Joseph and Mary (Goedde) Spahn. He was a member of St. Philip Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, St. Vincent de Paul Society, St. Philip Men's Club and the St. Philip Conservation Club. He worked for Whirlpool Corporation for 42 years before his retirement. Surviving Ervin are his wife of 61 years, Rosemary (Wildeman) Spahn; two daughters, Janet Lindauer, of Evansville, and Karen (Tony) Weinzapfel, of Mt. Vernon, Ind.; two sons, Alan (Pam) Spahn, of Poseyville, and Tom (Tammy) Spahn, of Wadesville; a brother, Bill (Louise) Spahn, of Evansville; eight grandchildren, Matt Spahn, Sarah Beuligmann, Kimberly Tucker, Andy Spahn, Nathan Spahn, Brandon Spahn, Anna Weinzapfel and Brett Weinzapfel; and ten great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Ervin was preceded in death by two sisters, Elvira Wolf and Loretta Wallenmeyer; and by a grandson, Eric Lindauer. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, February 17, 2017, at St. Philip Catholic Church, Rev. Claude Burns officiating. Burial will follow in St. Philip Church Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 9 a.m. until service time on Friday at St. Philip Catholic Church.
