Erlarene V. Cox passed away on January 28, 2017 at the age of 91. She was born in Denison, Iowa. She attended Brownsville High school, class of 1943, U.S. Cadet Nurse Corps/Airplane mechanic WWII 1945-1947, and Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing & Medical Technology 1948. Her Registered Nursing career began at the VA hospital in Washington, where she met and married E. Cox. Her career spanned over 40 plus years, she had worked for Weyerhaeuser, Eugene Hospital & Clinic for Dr. Wooliver and again for the VA hospitals in Portland and Roseburg. "Earla" was a long time resident of Pleasant Hill and was a member of the 7th Day Adventist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents: Richard and Elizabeth Trager, and her brother, George Trager. Survivors include: son, Jeff Cox of Florence, OR and daughter, Valerie Blue of Playa del Rey, CA, 3 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Those who knew her, know she was a truly a unique individual, one of a kind. May she rest in peace and enjoy her journey. A very special thank you for hospice angels who watched over her.
