Emma W. Roper
Emma Roper, who resided at Monastery Heights in West Springfield, was called home peacefully January 4th at the age of 94 surrounded by her loving family. Emma was a gentle and humorous lady who lived a simple life devoted to her faith and family, remaining true to both right up to the end, embodying St. Anthony’s Prayer: “O God, send forth your Holy Spirit upon me, guide all my thoughts and actions so my whole life will be pleasing to you; be with me in times of trial, stay close to me when I am weak in body and soul, give me strength, courage and grace to do your Holy will in all things; never let me be separated from you in thought, word, or deed. “ She leaves behind her niece, Rosemary Roper of Wilbraham, Ma, and nephews Michael Roper of Springfield, Ma, and James Roper and his wife Deborah of Ludlow, Ma. She will be dearly missed. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Cecilia’s Church in Wilbraham, Ma at 10am on Saturday, January 14th, followed by a burial at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
