Emma Cook Pitt
Emma Cook Pitt Springfield, TN Emma Lee Cook Pitt was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Virgie Lee Smith on March 14, 1919. She united in holy matrimony to Zelmo "Dick" Cook on September 23, 1946. She was baptized into the body of Christ on April 20, 1952 by Brother Shanks. She was a faithful member and was the first person in the first parking spot every Sunday until her health started failing her. Mr. Cook preceded her in death, leaving this earthly home on December 15, 1976. She and Zelmo had one son, Stevie L. Cook (who preceded her in death); one daughter, Sabrina Cook, and a foster son, Willie L. Richmond. She continued her work and dedication to the Church after the death of Mr. Cook. On July 2, 1999, she united in marriage to Harvey "H. G." Pitt. This union added a step daughter, Sheila White, to the family whom she loved dearly and was loved by Sheila as well. Mr. Pitt preceded her in death leaving this world in 2002. She leaves to cherish her memory, a loving daughter and foster son, Sabrina (Eugene) Ellis of Springfield, TN and Willie (Angie) Richmond of Cookeville, TN; step daughter, Sheila (Leroy) White; ten grandchildren, Carlos, Derrick, Chantra, JoAnna (Dorris), Cedric, Joseph (Brittany), Stevie (LaToya), Stephanie, Christina, Courtney; twenty-three great-grandchildren; step grandsons, David and Christopher; a host of nieces and nephews; devoted niece, Odessa Dowlen; three sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Wortham, Anna Jackson, and Edith Miller, and her 19th Avenue Church family. Funeral was Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 1:00 pm at Main Street Church of Christ with Brother Maurice Conner, Eulogy; Interment was in Restlawn Memorial Garden. W. D.
