EMIL A. "TONY" KING Sr.
EMIL A. "TONY" KING SR., passed away Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2016, at Parkview Hospital. Born April 18, 1945, in Indianapolis, Ind., he was a son of the late Paul C. King and Frances A. King-Sch rumpf. His family later moved to Fishers, Ind. area and graduated from Fishers High School where he met and fell in love with Diane Flowers. They married as teenagers in 1963 and celebrated their 53rd anniversary this past March. Tony was an insurance man all his life starting in the mail room at Aetna Insurance in Indianapolis. He next worked at Indiana Insurance where he held several positions. He found his way to Fort Wayne with Waterfield Insurance Agency where he spent 25 years. In 1996, he and Patrick Felts started Anthon-Patrick Insurance Corporation where he was President until his passing. Tony was a natural salesman and a guy's guy. The agency survives today with a second generation. He was past President of the 100 Percent Club, a former member of Orchard Ridge Country Club and the Fort Wayne Friars Club. He loved playing golf with friends, watching sports and old westerns on television. Surviving are his wife, Diane King; sons, Tony King Jr. and Michael A. (Andrea) King; and sister, Patricia (Howie) Johnson. He was preceded in death by a brother, Curtis Duncan King. Funeral service is 12:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 17, 2016, at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, with viewing one hour prior to service. Viewing also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16, 2016, at the funeral home.
