Emil A. "Tony" King Sr.
Emil A. "Tony" King Sr. passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at Parkview Hospital. He was born in Indianapolis, IN to the late Paul C. King and Frances A. King-Schrumpf on April 18, 1945. His family later moved to Fishers, Indiana area and graduated from Fishers High School where he met and fell in love with Diane Flowers. They married as teenagers in 1963 and celebrated their 53 anniversary this past March. Tony was an insurance man all his life starting in the mail room at Aetna Insurance in Indianapolis. He next worked at Indiana insurance where he held several positions. He found his way to Fort Wayne with Waterfield Insurance Agency where he spent 25 years. In 1996 he and Patrick Felts started Anthon-Patrick Insurance Corporation where he was President until his passing. Tony was a natural salesman and a guy's guy. The agency survives today with a second generation. He was past President of the 100 Percent Club, a former member of Orchard Ridge Country Club and the Ft. Wayne Friars Club. He loved playing golf with friends, watching sports and old westerns on television. Surviving is his wife Diane King and sons Tony King Jr., Michael A. (Andrea) King, sister Patricia (Howie) Johnson. Tony was preceded in death by a brother, Curtis Duncan King. Funeral service will be 12:30 p.m. Monday, October 17, 2016 at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Rd. with viewing 1 hour prior to service. There is also viewing Sunday, October 16, at the funeral home from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. Preferred memorials are to The American Heart Association or Rescue Mission or Harvest Food Bank. www.covingtonmemorial.com
