Mr. Elvin "Bud" Kelley
The Lord took his child, Elvin "Bud" Kelley, 92, of Hillsdale, to be with him forever on Friday, October 14, 2016. He was born May 20, 1924 in Hudson to Clarence and Lois (Jones) Kelley. He married Louise Redman on August 4, 1947 and she preceded him in death in 1999. Bud was retired from DCA Industries in Hillsdale. He was also a Boyscout leader. Bud served in the US Army in WWII. He a member of the Hillsdale Free Methodist Church where he enjoyed volunteering for numerous projects, including helping with the actual construction of the church and serving as CYC Children's Director. He had a very generous heart, always willing to assist someone in need. Survivors include two daughters, Patti (Derwin) Munn of Dubuque, IA and Cheryl Woodworth of Flint; four grandchildren, Curt & Kelley Woodworth and Heidi & Kenton Munn; and four siblings. Bud was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Louise; and 8 siblings. Funeral services for Elvin "Bud" Kelley will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Hillsdale Free Methodist Church with Pastor Keith Porter officiating. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday at the VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale. Private family interment will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery at a later date.
