LA GRANGE | Mr. Heber Elton Harrison, 79, died Wednesday, February 15, 2017. A native of Greene County, he was born August 11, 1937, the son of Heber and Irene Elizabeth Aldridge Harrison. Following graduation from the Snow Hill High School, he served in the U.S. Army. After his honorable discharge, Elton returned to Greene County where he was both a truck driver and farmer until his retirement. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Mary Louise Ipock Harrison; and a sister, Leo Harrison Bailey. Surviving are his children, Beverly Harrison Hartley and husband Randy, of Goldsboro, Allison Harrison Lewis and husband Roy, of Greenville, and Elton Dexter Harrison and wife Lisa, of La Grange; grandchildren, Ryan Hartley of Goldsboro, Michael Dexter Harrison of La Grange, Amie Lewis of Washington, and Lindsay Lewis Temple and husband Landen, of Bath; great-grandsons, Jaden Spain and Alex Spain of Washington, and Brody Hudson Temple of Bath; a sister, Mollie H. Crisp of Goldsboro; a brother, Carson Harrison of La Grange; and a special aunt, Ida Aldridge Jackson of Kinston. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, February 17, at Free Gospel PFWB Church with the Reverend Gary Tingen officiating. Interment will follow at the New Hull Road Church Cemetery with Military Honors. The family will receive friends on Friday prior to the service from 12:45 – 1:45 p.m. in the church fellowship hall and other times at Mr. Harrison's residence.
