Elsieann Kovalik Elsieann Marie Kovalik, 94, of Glen Carbon, and formerly of Granite City, Ill., born June 22, 1922 in Springfield, Ill., passed away at 6:58 a.m. on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Meridian Village in Glen Carbon. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Granite City and will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family and friends. In addition to her beloved husband, Henry "Hank" Kovalik, whom she married on November 21, 1940 at St. John Lutheran Church, Springfield, Ill., who passed on March 8, 1994; parents, Carl and Henrietta Scheina; she was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Paul Reynolds; two brothers, Carl and Harry Scheina; and a sister, Harriet Knoll. Elsieann is survived by a daughter, Judi Reynolds of Collinsville; a son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Sandra Kovalik of St. Charles, Mo.; five grandchildren and their spouses, Jacob Kovalik, Rick and Sharon Reynolds, Tim and Lisa Reynolds, Paula and Chad Hackstadt and Darren Reynolds; ten great-grandchildren, Michael, Ethan, Caitlin, Tanner, Chase, Brant, Johnny, Matt, Mattie and Jordan; other extended family and friends.
