Elsie Kurylak Elsie Kurylak, 83, of Edison, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, March 12, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Funeral Mass on Saturday, March 18, at 10:30 am at St. Thomas the Apostle Byzantine Catholic Church, 1410 Church St., Rahway. Interment will follow in Hazel Wood Cemetery, Clark. Visiting hours will be on Friday, from 4 - 8 pm at Walter Johnson Funeral Home, 803 Raritan Rd., Clark. Parastas will be celebrated at 4:00 pm. To offer condolences please visit www.walterjohnsonfh.com Elsie was born in Sudtirol, Austria to Edmund and Aloisia (Tschnett) Theiner. She lived in Rahway, prior to moving to Edison 33 years ago. She was a Volunteer at St. Thomas the Apostle Byzantine Catholic Church. Elsie was a Bookkeeper for the family owned business, Dan-El Electric of Rahway for 20 years, retiring many years ago. Elsie was an avid walker who enjoyed meeting and helping people along the way. She was a kind woman with great integrity and independence who set a good example for everyone she encountered. She was proud and honored to become an American citizen but never forgot the experiences of her youth in Austria and her loving family "back home". Elsie was predeceased by her beloved husband, Dan Kurylak. She is survived by her devoted children, Mario Kurylak and his wife Deborah, Victor K Kurylak and his wife Cynthia; her cherished grandchildren, Jessica Meaney and her husband Matthew, Kevin Kurylak and Kelly Kurylak; her brother and sister, Peter Theiner and Bertha Meisgang and her close companion, James Falesky.
