Ellen Marion Otterness, 87 years old of Lake Geneva, WI; formerly Antioch, IL, passed away Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Village Glen, Lake Geneva, WI. She was born April 2, 1929 in Paisley, Scotland, the daughter of the late Duncan George and Isabella (nèe MacGregor) Hucker. Ellen married Henry Otterness in Milburn, IL in 1978. She was a longtime resident of Antioch and a well-known artist, whose paintings hang in many local businesses and homes. She also loved fishing and travelling. Ellen was well regarded and loved by everyone who got to know her. She is survived by her husband, Henry "Bud"; their children, James McDowall, Kirsteen McDowall, Henry Kurt, Kevin (Debbie) Otterness, Alicia (Lloyd) Mager, and Leigh (Michael) Ugolini; their ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and her brother, Jim (Avril) Hucker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter. A Memorial Service will be held at 6:00PM Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at the STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH, 1055 Main St. Antioch, IL. Interment will be at a later in Mount Rest Cemetery.
