Ellen Margery Baker KINGSTON- Ellen Margery Baker of Kingston, N.Y., passed away April 17, 2017 surrounded by her loving family and friends. Born in Peekskill, N.Y., on March 3, 1950, Ellen grew up in Croton-on-Hudson, N.Y. Devoted daughter of the late William Baker and his wife Dina Gustin Baker. Cherished daughter of the late Lillian Goldstein Baker. Dear sister to the late Deborah Baker Terry who passed on April 9, 1996 and Sharon Slotnick and her husband Howard Slotnick. Loving aunt to David Terry, Abigail Terry, Michael Terry and David Slotnick, and sister-in-law to Eric Terry and his wife Marilyn S. Terry. Ellen loved her animals deeply and was a beloved mom to her horse Diesel, dog Mia, and cats Leela and Elton. Ellen devoted her time to volunteering and was an active member in her community. She volunteered at the Oncology Support Program of Health Alliance Hospital, New England Dressage Association (NEDA), Dressage 4Kids, and was an was an enthusiastic dog agility participant. Ellen was awarded Hospice Volunteer of the Year. She was chairman of Fire Commissioners for the Marbletown Fire District, member of Ulster County Horse Council for many years, and previously a board member of the New York State Horse Council (NYSHC).
